Food Inspo Spicy Stuffed Tofu


Base Ingredients

  • 12 pieces of yellow tofu, or you can use bean curd skin
  • Sufficient cooking oil

Filling Ingredients

  • 8 sheets of cabbage, finely chopped
  • 2 carrots, grated lengthwise
  • 100 grams of bean sprouts, washed thoroughly
  • 2 stalks of green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 stalks of celery, finely chopped
  • Sufficient water

Seasoning for Tofu Filling

- 6 cloves of shallots, finely chopped

- 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

- 15 red bird's eye chilies, finely chopped

- 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder

- 1/2 teaspoon seasoning powder

- Sufficient salt

Coating Ingredients

- 200 grams of wheat flour

- 3 tablespoons rice flour

- 1 tablespoon tapioca flour

- Sufficient salt

- 250 ml water

How to Make Spicy Stuffed Tofu

1. Fry the yellow tofu until crispy, then remove the inside of the tofu. Set aside.

2. Heat a little oil in a pan to sauté the filling ingredients.

3. Sauté shallots, garlic, and chopped red bird's eye chilies until fragrant.

4. Add all the filling ingredients: chopped cabbage, grated carrots, bean sprouts, and chopped tofu. Pour in a little water and season with pepper powder, seasoning powder, and salt. Mix well.

5. Cook the filling until done and the seasoning is well absorbed. Adjust the taste as needed. Once cooked, remove from heat and drain.

6. Fill the hollowed tofu with the cooked filling using a spoon. Repeat until all the ingredients are used.

7. Next, prepare the coating batter by mixing wheat flour, rice flour, tapioca flour, salt, and water in a bowl. Stir well until there are no lumps.

8. Dip the stuffed tofu into the coating batter.

9. Fry the coated tofu until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oil and drain.

10. Spicy stuffed tofu is ready to be enjoyed while still warm.
