Savory Garlic Bread Rolls For Dinner Parties

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese


  • In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add melted butter, sugar, garlic, parsley, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
  • Gradually add flour, mixing until the dough comes together.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.
  • Place the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, cover them with a towel, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Brush the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle evenly with grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
