Valentine's Day Dessert: Simplified 2-Ingredient Chocolate Truffles

Ingredients:

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: 1 can
  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: 1 cup

Preparation Steps:

1. Pour the condensed milk into a saucepan and heat it on low-medium heat. Stir continuously until small bubbles form in the milk.

2. Transfer the warm condensed milk into a mixing bowl. Be careful, as it will burn if left in the pan for too long.

3. Use a sifter to gradually pour the cocoa powder into the bowl. Mix a little at a time with a spatula or large spoon, repeating until all the cocoa powder is mixed in.

4. Cover a rectangular bread pan with plastic wrap and sprinkle it with cocoa powder.

5. Pour the cocoa and milk mixture into the pan, then flatten it with a spatula. Press the excess plastic wrap onto the batter.

6. Let it cool in the fridge for approximately two hours.

7. Remove the pan from the fridge and use the plastic wrap to pull your creation out. Place it on a cooking board.

8. Use a sharp, large knife to cut one-inch strips crosswise. Then go back and cut the same strips lengthwise, leaving you with square-inch squares. Pick up each square and gently prod them to round the edges out.

9. Put them on a plate and dust them with cocoa powder for the finishing touch.

Enhancing Your Truffles:

For a twist, consider adding a few drops of espresso powder or instant coffee to the cocoa powder. This will give your truffles a subtle mocha flavor. Alternatively, you could sprinkle your truffles with cocoa powder, crushed nuts, shredded coconut, cacao nibs, or even crushed Oreo biscuits for added texture and flavor [Source 1](https://elavegan.com/condensed-milk-truffles/).
