Instructions

Cookie Dough

  1. Roll out the dough between sheets of plastic wrap to a 3mm thickness. Refrigerate to make it easier to handle.
  2. Cut out desired shapes with cookie cutters, being aware of these tips:
    • Coat thin or intricate shapes with strong flour to prevent sticking.
    • Gently press on thin sections with a sugar craft stick for cleaner cuts.
    • For delicate shapes, move the cookie to a baking sheet before removing the middle section with a toothpick.
  3. Arrange the cookies on a cotta Silpat, and refrigerate if they become too soft.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C, lower to 170°C, and bake for 13-15 minutes until lightly golden brown. Adjust the time and temperature according to your oven.

Royal Icing

Follow the recipe ID00012108 for border and filling icings. Use pale blue, pale gray, pale green, and white.

Stained Glass Cookies

  1. Outline cookies with royal icing.
  2. Fill the inside with a thinner icing and let dry.
  3. Add details and patterns with royal icing in contrasting colors.

Assembly

  1. Melt Palatinite in a small pot, and color with Wilton Gel Color using a toothpick.
  2. Quickly pour the melted Palatinite into the hollowed-out sections of the cookies placed on aluminum foil.
  3. Allow to cool, and then remove the cookies from the foil.
  4. For snow globe shaker cookies, layer three cookies: two coated with Palatinite and one hollow in the middle. Use hard icing as glue, and fill the hollow space with decorative sugar and snowman-shaped cookies.
